Franciscan Peace Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
Prayer for Peace
We come to you in our need. Create in us an awareness of the massive forces of conflict that threaten our world today, and grant us a sense of urgency to activate the forces of goodness, of justice, of love, and of peace.
Where there are armed conflicts, let us stretch out our arms to our brothers and sisters.
Where there is abundance, let there be simple lifestyles and sharing of resources.
Where there is selfish ambition, let there be humble service. Where there is injustice, let there be atonement. Where there is despair, let there be hope in good news.
Where there are wounds of division, let there be unity and wholeness.
Help us not to seek to be cared for but to care, not expecting to be served but to place ourselves in the service of others, not aspiring to be materially secure, but to place our security in your love.
Amen.
Peace Prayer
Omnipotent and Most Merciful God,
You are the God of Peace.
You bring Godly thoughts to all
Who believe in you, no matter of what culture.
You are the One true God,
Who breaks all barriers that divide peoples,
That gives rise to conflicts and wars.
You unite all members of the human family
We thank you and we glorify you.
We pray for your guidance and enlightenment
We pray for the peace that you alone can give
The peace of the heart, true peace in the family
And in the community and in the world.
Grant us, O God of Peace the grace to remove
All divisions among us, all prejudices and biases.
Grant us the understanding,
respect for one another
Kindness, justice and charity
Make each of us a peacemaker
And let peace begin in our hearts.
This prayer we raise to you in your
own powerful name
Our one true God
Who lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.

Muslim, Jewish, Christian Prayer for Peace
O God, you are the source of life and peace.
Praised be your name forever.
We know it is you who turn our minds to thoughts of peace.
Hear our prayer in this time of war.
Your power changes hearts.
Muslims, Christians, and Jews remember, and profoundly affirm,
that they are followers of the one God,
children of Abraham, brothers and sisters;
enemies begin to speak to one another;
those who were estranged join hands in friendship;
nations seek the way of peace together.
Strengthen our resolve to give witness to these truths by the way we live.
Give to us:
Understanding that puts an end to strife;
Mercy that quenches hatred, and
Forgiveness that overcomes vengeance.
Empower all people to live in your law of love.
Amen.
