“Up to now brothers, we have done little or nothing. Let us begin again” St Francis of Assisi, near the end of his life - 12 January 2011
Congo/ Russia is a predominantly Christian community, while Nassarawa is predominately Muslim community. The two communities are among the most affected by the January 2010 crisis in Jos and since the crisis they don’t interact anymore; neither community goes to the other due to the fears, mistrust, hurts, disappoints, anxieties. - 4 January 2011
OFFERING OTHERS A TOKEN OF YOUR PEACE TOWARDS THEM - 13 December 2010
“To have eaten some strange food and to have taken pictures of people wearing funny clothes is not enough to say that you know a certain culture. Fr Donal’s now renewed spirit will watch over us and bless the Damietta Peace Initiative. His memory too will remain an inspiration for the Damietta International Team in Pretoria, with its partners and benefactors, that falls under the Capuchin Order. All of us are determined to carry on with the call, in fact a divine commission, to be ‘makers of Peace.’ - 9 August 2010
After our meeting at Congo Russia, Gangare community in Jos invited us (DPI) to a sensitisation meeting in their community. Shumsudeen, who is from that community, and have attended some of our programmes, introduced us and explained DPI activities in promoting peace and building good relationships in Jos and environs. He cited examples with Nassarawa, Dadin Kowa, Angwan Rogo, as some of the communities in Jos were DPI activities have taken root. - 19 July 2010
From the Pope ‘ May the game of soccer always be more of a means of teaching the values of honesty, solidarity and fraternity, especially among the younger generations’ - 7 July 2010
