DPI Kenya organized several activities to celebrate World Environment Day on 6th June 2009.
Joining with the Association of Sisterhoods in Kenya (AOSK), JPIC-FA, Youth Alive-Africa and other local youth groups, DPI planted trees along the Nairobi River. On behalf of DPI, Br. Benedict along with PACT members from Mathare attended the event, planting over 200 trees.
More significant to DPI Kenya, however, was the clean-up organized by our Kibera PACTs on this day. Joining them were PACTs from Rongai and Karinde, as well as Nicole Iafollo, Mrs. Fatuma, and Sr Antonette.
