Sr Lilian went down to the South Coast at the end of June to renew contacts made there with the Franciscan family (Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi, Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Capuchin Poor Clares, OFMs) and plan for a training Workshop for facilitators to take place there. With the assistance of the General Councillors of the Daughters of St. Francis (Assisi Sisters) the training was finally set on February 1-3, 2008 at the Assisi Sisters’ Retreat House at Port Shepstone. This Workshop will be conducted by LUMKO Institute. Thirty (30) would be the maximum number of participants.
Sr. Ena, FMM in Glenwood promised to recommend SFOs and parishoners to participate with her in the training workshop. Sr.Manuela, DSF will identify who among her Sisters be invited to the workshop. Srs. Manuela and Andrea (DSF General Councillors) planned to participate and be more involved with DPI.
Srs. Kathy and Melanie from FMM convent in Umzinto could be invited to participate.
The Capuchin Poor Clares of Umzumbe renewed their commitment to pray for Damietta Peace Initiative and to mention the programme to their relatives, benefactors and friends
